🔴How to you strengthen the multifidus?🔴
The
multifidus is a long, sleak muscle that originates from the sacrum
(triangle bone) and attaches all the way to spinous processes of
cervical 2nd bone.
The multifidus muscle is an important
stabilizer of the lumbar spine. It functions together with transversus
abdominis and pelvic floor muscles for spine stability. Multifidus
muscle weakness and atrophy is associated with chronic low back pain.
Effective exercises targeting the multifidus include:
🔴 Prone alternate arm and alternate leg lift
🔴 Quadruped alternate arm and leg lift
🔴 Prone alternate arm and leg lift over physioball
🔴Four point planks
🔴 Four point plank held on a physioball
